This is a blend of mostly Nerello Mascalese with some Alicante, Grecanico, Minnella Bianca & Carricante.  

The 2021 vintage was extremely hot and dry year Mt Etna, which resulted in a low yielding harvest of ripe, healthy grapes. Sugar levels were higher than normal and the skins of the red grapes were thicker and more tannic and the team found the need to blend the wines they generally would've bottled for the Palmento Rosso and Jeudi 15 Rosato. Thus  “Vendredi 13” Rosso was born! Named to reflect the challenging year of 2021 and that for some “Friday 13th” is considered unlucky while for others, it’s a day to celebrate!
